Managing Anxiety in Quarantine

One of the most important tips for managing anxiety in quarantine is reframing our thoughts. Initially your first thought might be “I am forced to stay in my house.” One way to reframe this thought is “I have the opportunity to take time for myself.” You can finally complete projects or tasks you have been wanting to do but just have not had the chance to start. This could be catching up on your self-care routine such as watching your favorite Netflix tv series. Or perhaps reorganizing your home. Let this be the opportunity to take a pause and reset. Another tip would be limiting the amount of time you spend watching the news. Most people might not be aware but constantly watching the news especially right when you wake up and before you go to bed could potentially increase anxiety. If you are one of the many who like to stay informed, considered decreasing the amount you watch and see if you notice a difference. Lastly, if you are struggling with communicating how you are feeling to others, lets investigate journaling.
